Klub Književnika   BELGRADE

The place where over 60 years diplomats, writers, statesmen, politicians, actors and even "beauty queens" have entertained, argued and told funny stories, is more than just a restaurant, or as Momo Kapor described it it is a distinguished gastronomic and literary temple.
The club restaurant - Writers' Club (Klub Knjizevnika) is founded in the middle of the last century in 1946. A decade later, Iva and Buda came in charge of the restaurant, while Buda stayed up to present date. In the beginning, the guests in the Club needed a membership card to visit it, so the talk in Belgrade was that membership in the Writers' Club was more important than in the Association of Writers.

Many eminent persons from the country and abroad were once at Buda's place. The Italian novelist Alberto Moravia, the French writer Simon de Beauvoir and her friend, the writer and philosopher, Jean-Paul Sartre often came to Belgrade and spent the evening at the Writers' Club. While Richard Burton made the movie Sutjeska, he loved to come over for a whiskey at Buda's place. Kasu and Andric ended their every gathering with a dinner at French 7.

Danilo Kis, Zoran Radmilović, Momo Kapor, Matija Bečkovič, Dobrica Čosič and many others also visited the Club.
